Chandler C. Blair
Chandler C. Blair
BIO
Chandler came to the practice of law later in life. Prior to attending law school, Chandler worked for Wells Fargo in the credit department. However, upon completion of law school he discovered his true calling was in public service and defense of the accused. In 2005, Chandler accepted a position with the New Mexico Public Defender. Chandler worked exclusively with the Public Defender Department, with the exception, of approximately 10 months he worked under the tutelage of Gary Mitchell. Chandler began as an entry level attorney. He was mentored by Brett Carter the then District Defender, and quite possibly one of the most brilliant legal minds in eastern New Mexico. Chandler developed rapidly and rose through the ranks at the Public Defender Department. Upon his separation from the Department, he attained the rank of Deputy Chief Public Defender, second only to the Chief Public Defender. During his tenure with the Public Defender, Chandler has defended people accused of almost every crime in the New Mexico Penal Code. With all of his successes, Chandler has never forgotten his modest beginnings and remains a champion of the underdog, and down trodden.
